Born out of pure love for something original and unique, Odette Alvarez began her label by simply creating clothing for herself. Her family and friends soon after asked for their own bespoke pieces and it wasn’t long before Odette turned her passion into a business, and Tete by Odette was born.
Fast forward 13 seasons and we’re still floored by the creativity and enthusiasm Odette infuses in her clothing. Her SS18 range, called Sensations, was born out a dreamy theme and equal parts color. Texture, 3D fabric, ridges, silk, embroidery, layering and boho-luxe styling makes Tete by Odette the label to watch, and be seen in this Spring.
An intergalactic printed ruffle dress with two symmetrical seahorses make for the perfect Spring brunch dress, while the watercolor printed maxi shirt dress in pink, navy, teal, and yellow would make the ideal Hampton’s-wedding-guest frock. Upon looking at the Spring/Summer 18′ collection, we see what Odette visioned when mood boarding – she wanted women to feel playful, and unlimited. Take the Missoni-esque, multi-toned, fringed mini dress with matching coatigan, it is something of dreams, and we can only imagine the elation one must feel when putting it on. Or how about the layered sheer-chiffon asymmetric dress in lavender and pink with bell sleeves and planet motifs, a playful nod to the two-tone trend of years past, mixed with galaxy influences.
It’s safe to say that Tete by Odette’s fantastical Spring 2018 range is one for the dreamer who longs for a piece of clothing to work like magic and the soul who yearns for a dress or a skirt to instantaneously transport them back to dress-up memories. Well, those need not be memories as this collection is very much a reality.
